The Challenge

Pirros is a cloud-based platform that hosts sensitive intellectual property for architecture firms. As the company grew, security became a gating factor for the business. Enterprise customers required SOC 2, but Pirros did not have the internal resources to build and operate a security program on their own.

  • Resource constraints: With a team of just two to three engineers and no dedicated security personnel, Pirros lacked the time and expertise to design, implement, and maintain a full security program from scratch.
  • The checklist trap: The team initially adopted compliance tools, which tracked progress but did not actually perform the engineering work required to secure their infrastructure.
